Do I need a NCsoft account in order to play guild wars?

Do I need a NCsoft account in order to play guild wars? Also, what exactly is NCsoft, and is it safe?

3. An NCsoft account and a Guild Wars account are essentially two different things. You can attach your GW account to your NCsoft account, but it's not required (at least not yet). NCsoft is basically a giant game company - best known for Guild Wars, but also City of Heroes, a new game called Aion, etc. I have multiple accounts with NCsoft and have never had any problems, so I would say that it's safe.
